Synopsis:

In a desperate attempt to obtain the release of her son kidnapped by racketeers, forty-year old Silvia Soriani, widow of a business accountant who colluded with criminals, is arrested by the police and accused by the Head of Police Puglisi and by Judge Corelli of complicity with the head of the racket Franco Maresco. Devastated by the death threats hanging over her son, in prison Silvia overcomes her despair thanks to three other prisoners: Anna, Giulia and Elvira - who are also Maresco’s victims.
Together they plan to kill Maresco.
After a failed attempt to find Maresco so as to kill him, the three prisoners are asked by the Head of Police Puglisi to collaborate in the investigation. Giulia approaches Canessa, Maresco’s right-hand man, and manages to gather information on where the police might find the fugitive Maresco.
Unfortunately, however, she is discovered. Silvia regains possession of the money and contacts Maresco for her son’s release, but Anna turns up at their meeting with the firm intention of killing him. Silvia begs her not to, for only he knows where her son is and if Anna kills him, she will lose him forever. Maresco takes advantage of the situation and shoots Anna.
Hunted down by the Police who have rushed to the scene, he uses Silvia as a shield, but suddenly is hit by a shot.
Yet, it isn’t over…
