Synopsis:

Stardust is the story of three actresses at the height of their career during a crucial period of Italian history between 1940 and 1945. In the summer of 1943, Paola , Anna and Iris are at the top of their career when two events occur that are destined to revolutionize their lives: the fall of Fascism on 25 July and the armistice on 8 September.
Twenty-eight year old Paola del Sol is the oldest of the three.
Probably the most famous diva during the regime. She has starred in major love and adventure movies, and epics like The Iron Crown.
She has many friends among the party officials and her drawing room is frequented by the most important figures of the day. Anna Folena, who is a little younger, has made her name as comedienne.
Her vitality, loquaciousness, and easy ways have made her great favourite with the public.
The youngest, Iris Cavalcanti, ran away from home to become an actress and made her name with a movie that caused a scandal, because of a scene where she briefly appeared nude. With her intense, fiery temperament she seems destined to dislodge the “divine “ Paola del Sol from her pedestal. The lives of these three stars are interwoven with the experiences of the whole population at a dramatic time when Italy was divided and foreign armies were fighting in the country. The three women go their separate ways in the grip of overwhelming events from which they finally emerge as changed people.
