Synopsis:

A small town in Southern italy, the early 1970’s. Before the altar the bride and groom present a beautiful picture, when suddenly a gunshot is fired and the groom falls to the ground, dead.
Who shot him? We will find out via the winding road of flashbacks which make up the two episodes of this miniseries.
We will re-live the youth of Angela, Carmine and Giovanni. Youth marked in a different way by the same violence. A rape suffered, a rape carried out, being helpless witnesses to such brutality will change the lives of the three youngsters forever. Each one of them will seek “their” own justice so as to get on with their lives. Carmine, certain that everything is his by divine right, will start an unstoppable ascent to his domination of the town helped by Nina, sister of the local boss: Don Salvatore Ponticello.
Giovanni will abandon his dreams built on his prestigious university degree, in order to join the police forces in the hope of being able to change things, to help the weak and the honest. Angela will leave the town where memories are unbearable and where she no longer believes in the future, so as to try and build herself a new one elsewhere. But it is all an illusion; the lives of the three, even if they take different paths, are by now indissolubly linked to that wretched evening.
