Synopsis:

Ferrante and Ippolito Albrizzi, sons of Count Massimilano, were born on the same day in the Duketown of Milan, in the mid seventeenth century. They are very different in appearance and personality: Ippolito is pensive and studious, Ferrante is impetuous and skilled at arms. Federico cornero is their family's sworn enemyand father of the beautiful Livia with whom Ferrante is hopelessly in love. Count Massimiliano is killed in the violent clashes between the Albrizzis and Corneros, and Livia too loses her life due to a mistake made by Ippolito. Now the two brothers take different paths. Ferrante, devastated by grief at his beloved's death, is abduced by pirates and on board their ship meets old erasmus and his inseparable parrot. Ippolito suffers terrible guilt for having caused Livia's death and is condemned to life imprisonment. However, with the aid of his companions Cione and Passaia he manages to escapeand hastens to find his brother and beg his forgiveness. After many adventures and attaks by other pirate ships, we discover that Erasmus is the notorius, dreaded pirate known as the Devil's Tail...
