Synopsis:

Ciccio and Franco Lo Cascio are two policemen in Rome: one is permissive, the other fastidious. Life passes by without events until they unwittingly help a band of robbers who have just robbed a bank, and they are therefore transferred elsewhere. However, their new boss, Capitan Merli, is an old acquaintance: Franco and Ciccio had once fined him and taken away his licence, without realizing who he was. They are then assigned the most impossible duties and create havoc and all sorts of problems until they finally manage to get the sack. However, luck is with them: they recognise, follow and catch the original band of bank robbers in an amusing scene and manage thus to regain their jobs.
