Synopsis:

Those who know him flee terrorized and disgusted. Not by chance he is a shrew, he has a certain character, he is a cynic; although he also has a good physique and is a rich ba¬chelor with his rural estate within the confines of Bergamo.
One must admit that he becomes the symbol of incommunicability, when he dresses himself as Dracula and/or Frankenstein to shatter the hopes of the many young Ladies who come to court him (remember «Ha¬rold and Maude?»).
In a word or two, he is a solitary bear. Yet he speaks with the animals, detests hunters and he lives for nature, revealing his rough good-naturedness even if he is a bit thick skinned. But who is he?
He is Elia, the protagonist of a sto¬ry that may be a little bizarre, but basically maintains some resemblan-ce with that famous Shakespeare’s play, that bears the same name. And now we will see why.
He is not a very easy going type. Someone who knows Elia has this to say « he could even appear to be -pleasant, but only in a photo. He has sued everyone, dragging into court the whole district, even me, and I am the judge ». In effect he is a despot, that lives alone in his perch like an eagle, with just one ageing governess who gives her best effort to find him a wife, but all her efforts finish badly.
She « his she » makes her entrance a little later on, in a stormy night, her car breaks down near the rail-road station, and she comes to his estate to claim hospitality. Her na¬me is Lisa, and « it is not your fault» is what Elia gently comments when he meets her for the first time, at the door during the storm.
But in order to obtain that hospita¬lity Lisa will have to fight bitterly on the doorstep, imploring him, de-monstrating her desperate situation, but in the end she is saved by the determination of the ageing gover¬ness who comes to Lisa's rescue. But upon resolving the immediate problems of drying and warming herself, the young Lady wastes no time, and immediately falls in love with Elia: it was like lightening stri¬king, in spite of the predictable behaviour of Elia.
This young siren tries everything, to keep from being chased out of the house, within the next few days, she plays her cards along with her hopes in a very calculated and risky way; because Elia has a heart of stone.
Will Lisa succeed in conquering the heart of Elia? The title of the film, the open tones and the lightness of the story allow us to foretell the outcome (yes). But -even if the ends are predictable, the means to arri¬ve there are not very ordinary; the¬re are low blows by both sides, there are surprises, attacks, and sudden turn abouts.
Ladies and gentlemen it is a war. But isn't love always a struggle, and it is not concluded with the end of our story.
