Synopsis:

It’s the small insignificant details the make up the daily routine in a family’s life – and sometimes they hide deep resentment and misunderstandings. Rosa and Peppino are a typical couple in the colourful Neapolitan town of Pozzuoli, and their ups and downs over a long weekend represent the ordinary drama of many families behind their own walls. But Sophia Loren as Rosa transforms this simple woman who bases her whole philosophy of life on cooking, into a character who has to suffer a difficult husband with domestic heroism and lively retaliation. Luca De Filippo takes on Peppino, shakes him out of his resentment, dullness and egoism, and makes him into a sensitive personality of a middle-aged man worried that his life and his wife are passing him by.
