Synopsis:

Vera Molinari, the rich and spoilt wife of a well-known Roman physician, has her very existence turned upside down when her husband, accused of corruption and sought by the law, disappears without warning…
The unexpected and dramatic financial turmoil which she finds herself facing means that she must move with her two children to the only property which has not been confiscated: her parent’s old
home in a small provincial town.
Her new life however presents many difficulties from the start, due to the typical mentality of the town and the problems she has to deal with, when all she wants is a little peace, despite a missing husband wanted by the police, a frozen bank account, and an unreliable mother-inlaw who, instead of helping, moves into a spa resort to await better times. And the prospect of returning to a place she ran away from when younger with her head down hardly fills her with delight. Fluctuating between moments of profound desperation and courageous enthusiasm, Vera manages to get back on her feet and accept the setbacks she comes across, always trying to transform the difficulties into moments of experience for her children, sometimes comical even if not exactly positive. For the first time in her life, Vera discovers a different side to herself, deeper, more genuine, which helps her find new friends who will be a great help, and maybe a past romance; these are just some of the things which await her around the corner of her new life…
